Nexus 6P is the latest Android smartphone from Google, manufactured by Huawei. It has a 5.7-inch, WQHD AMOLED display at 518 ppi, and front-facing stereo speakers housed in an all aluminum body. It runs Android 6.0 Marshmallow, which is the latest version. Because it’s pure Android and isn’t sold through carriers, the Nexus 6P will be able to receive updates as soon as Google pushes them out.
One of the marquee new features in the Nexus 6P is the ‘Nexus Imprint’ fingerprint sensor on the back. One touch of the sensor will quickly unlock the phone and compatible apps.
The camera in the Nexus 6P is 12.3MP, and has IR laser assisted autofocus. It also has a broad-spectrum CRI-90 dual flash. The front camera is 8MP, and can record HD video at 30fps. The larger 1.55 µm pixels let more light in to get better photo quality in low light scenarios.
Inside the Nexus 6P is a Qualcomm Snapdragon 810 2 GHz Octa-core processor with an Adreno 430 GPU and 3GB of RAM. The battery is 3,450 mAh, and just 10 minutes of charging will give it 7 hours of usage time. Nexus 6P supports the new USB Type-C port for charging.
Nexus 6P starts at $499 and comes in three colors – Aluminum, Graphite, and Frost. Internal storage options include 32GB, 64GB, and 128GB.
